# MELON DAO

## What is it?

The MELON DAO is a decentralized community comprising creators, builders, curators, and artists collaborating to bring renowned creators and the most iconic internet content into the web3 space.&#x20;

At the core of MELON DAO's mission is the governance of the protocol, community, and platform, achieved through curating and supporting creators to launch their exclusive content NFT drops for their communities to collect and partake in their achievements.&#x20;

Governed by [$MELON token](/melonpaper/melon-ecosystem/usdmelon-token.md) holders, contributors are incentivized and rewarded for their valuable contributions to the growth and development of the [MELON ecosystem](/melonpaper/melon-ecosystem/the-melon-ecosystem.md).
